11 suspects hunted for fatal hazing

A 20-year old student was pronounced dead on arrival at the Governor Celestino Gallares Hospital in Tagbilaran City . Capitol jolted again with back hoe deal

The back hoe transaction was tackled during the Governor's Report last Friday where the provincial executive directed lawyer Handel Lagunay, chair of the Bids and Awards Committee to explain if indeed the provincial government was at the losing end of the deal. Lagunay explained that the transaction amounted to P9.7 million because it included an accessory called hydraulic breaker. Full story

2 years later, still no case

THE TALIBON DAM SCAM

TWO years after graft charges were filed in connection with the P165-million Talibon dam scam, the Office of the Ombudsman Visayas still has not filed a single case in court. The Boholanos Against Corruption, Oppression and Social Harassment (Bacos) filed the case arising from “unearthed anomalies relative to the funding release” for the supposed construction project of the P165-M Talibon Small Irrigation Project last July 14, 2004.
