By: Onad Munalem

TALIBON – NUTRITION month core messages here focused on relatively the same themes, eating right after a successful birth control program. As the town celebrated nutrition month in simple and yet fitting ceremonies, the messages were centered not much on the provision of healthy food but something even deeper: responsible parenthood.

In his message during the ceremonies, Mayor Juanario Item urged the youth to tell their parents to control the number of children through natural method of family planning. This he said is an initial step towards providing nutritious food to children and then sending them to school and providing them clothing. Item, who also sits as municipal nutrition council chairman said the parents need to give balanced diet to their children to avoid their being easily getting sick.

Meanwhile Dr. Rosalinda Evangelista, newly installed Talibon schools district supervisor shared that it is necessary for young students to eat a well balanced diet to make the body and brain healthy. She added that healthy bodies usually have bright brains. This after Dr. Van Apolinar Cagulada, municipal nutrition action officer (MNAO) opened the day's activity by a presentation of the present status of the local Nutrition program implementation here.
