Canadians to help set up tourist info system here

Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) is offering to provide expert advisers in programming the Tourism Information System (TIS). The experts will assess and examine the tourist information available for automation and identify potential linkages with the business partners in Bohol.

The advisers also assess the capability of the Local Government Unit in developing and implementing the TIS and will develop a conceptual and logical design. Moreso, they will be training a person who would be responsible in implementing the physical design or do the identification of external 3rd parties that can do the function.

The TIS is a specific type of information system that consists of all information channels like provincial promotion message, provincial tourist sites and activities, travel information centers, individual business promotions, and community's visual image used in business or community to promote itself as a tourism attraction.

The Abatan River Circuit (Maribojoc, Cortes, Antequera, Balilihan, and Catigbian), municipality of Loboc , and the Bohol Marine Triangle (Panglao, Dauis and Baclayon) are the initial targeted sites for the TIS. Local businesses, local residents as well as travelers are targeted TIS beneficiaries. It helps residents and travelers locate tourist sites, recreation activities, distance and time considerations during travel and service outlets, Capitol said.

This program helps build community pride and establish long-term ties with satisfied visitors. It will also avoid confusion and other problems that can result from poorly oriented, directed and managed travelers. If this will be pushed through, Bohol will once again hit the record being the first in the country offering this one of a kind service. CESO is a nonprofit organization that helps to build proud independent communities.
