Cop slay suspect, Boac Gang member yields |
A top suspect in the slay of Police Officer 1 Raymund Tajanlangit yielded to authorities May 27, a Provincial Peace and Order Council report bare. Had he not, he could have been netted a few days more with the noose tightening up on him. Fearing that the long arm of the law will finally get him when that may not be as kind to spare him, the suspect Jobe Nacua waved the white flag. Nacua, 27 years-old member of the believed to be Carmen based notorious Boak Gang was on the run as early as 2005. He was tagged as the trigger-man in the shooting to death of one Carlos Cericos in 2005. Independent sources told Post that Nacua, a resident of Alegria, had other hits as a member of the Boak Gang. While he was also implicated in the band's illegal activities, Nacua also coordinated his own pillages. These illegal activities range from petty burglaries to highway robberies and murders as a member of the ruthless Boak. Nacua was also tagged behind some carnapping and highway robs aside from the murder which he has been tagged. A few months back, while on a motorcycle from Sagbayan one night, Nacua chanced upon a man texting by the roadside. Going for the glowing cellphone, Nacua quickly snatched the cellphone and when the texter resisted, he simply shot him. The victim, a police officer assigned at the 4th Company of the Regional Mobile Group tried to shoot back but was not able to hit. Victim failed to arrived at the nearest hospital and was dead on arrival. Successive investigations and intelligence gathering finally led the local authorities to Nacua, whom they put under surveillance. Upon verification of his involvement in some cases, police started sustained manhunt operations on Nacua who occasionally comes home. Knowing however that the dragnet was closing in fast, Nacua voluntarily surrendered to Carmen Mayor Pedro Budiongan through Barangay Chairman Carlito Samonte. From Carmen, Nacua was subsequently turned over to the Provincial office for tactical investigation. |
