Loon diarrhea outbreak goes out of control |
When Post breaks story, only one fatality, now its 4 |
String of four deaths and another 240 cases of diarrhea in Loon that broke out last Dec 25 has since then kept health authorities hand's full. This as the outbreak that had breached into 41 of Loon's 67 barangays is still to be contained, admits Natalio Castilio Memorial Hospital (CNCMH) chief Dr. Celestina dela Serna. Dumaluan 6-month suspension served |
PANGLAO Mayor Doloreich Dumaluan Tuesday peacefully stepped down in compliance wit a suspension order served by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Assistant regional director Pedro Noval Jr. Vice Mayor Pedro Fuertes took his oath of office as Dumaluan's replacement before Noval at 11:30 a.m. Full story |
Eskaya denies environmental violations in resort |
A five-star resort and spa under construction in Tawala, Panglao town whose owners already spent P150 million in investment and still counting is wondering what violation it has committed when practically all agencies concerned have given their establishment a “clean bill of environmental health”. Drunk-driving nips life of a motorist |
JAGNA - DRIVING while intoxicated again showed a gory lesson, too bad the learner could never appreciate that when he died even before he could have known what hit him. Too late indeed for Jusel Jose Tande to know that drinking and driving do not go too well. And while driving home drunk last January 21, he drove into an electric post that swerved his motorcycle out of control sending him right smack into a tree before being catapulted into a deep canal. Reyes inaugurates P20-B palm oil mill |
ENVIRONMENT Secretary Angelo Reyes yesterday inaugurated the P20-billion processing plant of the Philippine Agriculture Land Development and Mill, Inc. (PALM, Inc.) in Barangay Matin-ao, Carmen town. Reyes was all praises for the state-of-the-art mill that can process 30 tons of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) of the oil palm per hour but produces zero effluents. Full story |
