Chatto conferred the BSP gold Usa award |
FOR his commitment and dedication to scouting movement in the country, Representative Edgar M. Chatto recently received the Gold USA, a prestigious national award conferred by the National Court of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) yesterday. Himself a member of the BSP National Executive Board and vice chair of the Bohol Council, Chatto received the award from Secretary-General Jose Rizal Pangilinan in fitting ceremonies at the JJ's Seafood Village here. Bohol Council chair and Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Asec. Jose Torralba witnessed the rites. Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay who heads the BSP National Court of Honor failed to attend the honoring rites but relayed his praises to the congressman thru Pangilinan. Chatto was further cited for his “meritorious and outstanding service rendered to the (scouting) organization.” He was also conferred the Silver USA honor some three years ago. “ USA ” is a Pilipino term for the deer, a figure inscribed on the award's medal. National awards for adults like the gold, silver and bronze service awards and medals of merit were also given. Chatto has been an avid supporter of scouting because the movement itself had greatly helped in molding his person and characters into what he is now—an esteemed government leader. |
