Drowsy teener is abused in Ubay |
It does not pay to fall asleep in the wrong place. This a 15-year-old girl in Ubay town found out belatedly as she ended up abused by still unidentified suspects last week. The girl, said to be a resident of Barangay Casate, Ubay town, is an incoming high school junior at the Camambugan Barangay High School. According to initial investigation, the girl had gone to the school and felt sleepy while waiting for her teacher who was in charge of her enrolment. Several minutes later, she decided to take a nap in a hut within the school compound. Before she fell asleep however, the girl recalled that she noticed that there were people who approached the hut where she was sleeping. The girl said she was punched in the stomach and subsequently lost consciousness as a result. When she regained consciousness, the girl was no longer inside the hut where she had gone earlier. Instead, the girl said she found herself in the baby dam about 200 meters away from the hut. The girl said she was no longer wearing her short pants and later found it hanging on a branch of a gemelina tree. At the same time, she realized that her underwear had been pulled down to her knees. The girl was advised to undergo medico-legal examination at the Don Emilio del Valle Hospital in Ubay. It found that the girl had not been raped. Elements of the Ubay PNP conducted follow-up operations to determine who were responsible for punching the girl and for the physical abuse that followed. The results of the investigation were not immediately available. |
