Koreans visit eco-cultural sites here |
KOREANS became the latest visitors to this town as part of the Philippine-Korea Youth Exchange Program (PKYEP). Escorted by the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation (SKPF) headed by Chief of Staff Chris John Rener Torralba and National Youth Commissioner for Visayas Benjie Oliva, the Korean youths visited this town's eco-cultural sites, namely: the Francisco Dagohoy River Park , One-Town-One-Product Center and the Inabanga Fishing Village . Professor Kwang Sun Cha, vice president of the National Council of Youth Organizations in Korea (NCYOK) led the team. Sun Yeon Park , secretary of the NCYOK National Department was assistant leader. Youn Mo Kang of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies was the interpreter while the delegation members were Hye Jung Ko of Gim-Po High School, Min Jin Kim of Gyeongbuk Foreign Language High School, Hyun Jin Kim of Busan International High School, Eun Ryoung Oh of Icheon Yan Jung Girl's High School, Hyunkyu Lee and Jae Yeon Choi both of the Hanguk Academy of Foreign Studies and Jee Choi of Daewon Foreign Language High School. The group first visited the OTOP Center where Dr. Ma. Eleanore Abisado attended apprised them on the processes in making the high quality raffia products. They proceeded to the Francisco Dagohoy River Park (FDRP) and the Inabanga Fishing Village (IFV) wherein they were treated by Mayor Josephine Socorro Jumamoy to lunch. They also cruised on the river leading to the enchanted kingdom Macaban, the so-called city of fairies along the Inabanga River . |
