Merry Christmas to All! |
Tomorrow we celebrate what in the Christian world is Christmas Day – the birth of Jesus Christ the Son of God who humbled himself to become man in obedience to the will of the Father. Jesus' birth is the ultimate proof of God's love for the world and mankind. But even for this lesson of love and of humility, man continues to ignore God in many ways. We see this in the everyday life especially of those who call themselves Christians. On the other hand there are those who do not know Christ but may as well be his disciples for their lives are every inch the reflection of the life that Jesus personally modeled for his followers to live. It took Jesus 33 years after his birth to tell us what really is the meaning of love when he surrendered his life in order to save man from the clutches of hell. It is after that redemption of man from sin that we now realize the importance of His birth. For it was only by becoming man that he was able to demonstrate what love really means – it is not only sharing one's talents and resources to others but especially the giving one's life for them. As we celebrate Christmas therefore, it is best to call to mind our worthiness of his coming. One way to find out is by looking at our hearts and try to see how much we have prepared for His coming. Are we like the innkeepers who could not spare even the smallest room in our hearts? No one can answer this for us except ourselves. No matter what our status in life, a ready heart to welcome Jesus will mean a Merry Christmas for the whole world. May each one receive the blessings that the birth of Jesus brings and may the coming year be filled with the love of God. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! |
