Balili's game plan: Too good to be true

If it is too good to be true, then investigate,

That's exactly what this Bglante is doing when we learned that businessman Angelo Balili's preoccupation these days is gobbling up prime real properties in the Loboc-Loay area. That is instead of pumping hands to his would-be constituents if indeed he is running as what we suggested a few columns back. So is he running after all in the third district congressional fight or is he is now trying to become a top notch resort developer?

The Loboc millionaire is yet to make his pronouncement official to run but we still maintain that at the rate he is dispensing money to third district mayors as if they will be demonetized the following day, we still believe that he is still in the thick of the congressional combat. The long and short of it therefore is instead of talking politics, he is talking of multi-million businesses. We are not at liberty to divulge the full details of his game plan but suffice it to say that he is a serious investor especially in tourism-related concerns. For example, with the planned privatization of the Chocolate Hills Complex, the name Balili was floated around as a serious bidder. We confirmed this bit of information from Balili himself and if indeed he is putting his money where his mouth is, then he is a serious contender to the privatization plan.

There is no doubt that Balili is loaded financially.

If indeed he is serous with his business plans, then he will definitely give his political rivals a run for their money let alone if he lumps politics and business at the same time. Not only is he casting a moist eye to develop the Chocolate Hills. He is also set to plow in lots of money to gain control of the floating restaurant business in Loboc. Whatever that means, only Balili knows. But remember that these two tourism businesses-Choco Hills and Loboc River Cruise, are complimentary to each other and there's no denying that money, lots of them, are what it takes to make those tourist attraction truly world class.

The bone of contention here is that if you throw away good money in the vicinity of P100 million to develop the tourism destinations in the Loboc-Carmen corridor , you can imagine how much monies he will splurge if he runs for Congress in the third district. For sure, if this will happen it will definitely send shivers down the spine of his potential congressional enemies.
