Talibon to get P46.5M Infra projects support

TALIBON – PROJECTS worth a total of P46.5M is Governor Erico Aumentado's early Christmas news for Talibongnons as he proudly shared the good news during the recent Barangay officials' Congress. Gov. Aumentado said that the multi-million worth of infrastructure projects would be poured in this fast growing, progressive town immediately.

In his privilege speech during the Congress November 16-17, he said the projects are P10M official upgrading of Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital (CMPH) and P36.5M Hospital Equipment Assistance Project (HEAP). Aumentado, who was fresh from an engagement in China has also reported a sisterhood agreement and China donation worth P6.5M. Moreover, Talibon still gets part of the P19.5M information, communication technology enhancement projects with Ayala Foundation. As to the ICT fund sources, 50% of it would come from the national government through President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo while the provincial government sheds in P3M and another 3.750m from the congressional fund sources of the City of Tagbilaran and 47 towns in Bohol's three districts.

The amount, set also for the improvement of information communication technology to secondary schools benefits San Jose National High School , Carlos P. Garcia Memorial High School Bagacay National High School and Talibon Agricultural High School , all of Talibon. From the funds would come the construction budget for additional school buildings, heat resistant ceiling of the CPG Multi-Purpose Center , Talibon Small Rural Infrastructure Project and the development and promotion of the town's tourism projects.

Meanwhile, Congressman Roberto Cajes who was able to attend the closing of the officials congress promised 100T to all Talibon barangays, the fund chargeable to the 2007 budget. He further informed that a 2M budget for the flood control or seawall project at the right side of the Talibon Port is also in it.
