4 more projects in 3rd worth P92-M now open for bidding

Visibly piqued by the turn of events in his own turf regarding prosecution of projects, Gov. Erico Aumentado called on local contractors Friday to file a case against those responsible behind the negotiated bidding involving four road projects in the third district and won only by one contractor. This developed even as the Post learned yesterday that four more projects in the same district worth more than P90 million were already publicized and now open for competitive bidding. Full story

Dumaluan intrudes into ABC meet for release of 20% fund

Calling him a gate crasher, Mayor Doloriech Dumaluan barged into the meeting of the Association of Barangay Captains (ABC) Tuesday and got what he wanted: asking approval for the release of Panglao's long dormant 20 percent development fund. Dumaluan's antics Tuesday did not escape the probing eyes of his political enemies in lawyers Dennis Hora and Benjie Arcamo who exposed the mayor's gate crashing caper. The two mortal enemies of the Panglao mayor described him as gatecrasher during the duo's program Panglao Pagpakabana over Station DYTR. Full story

Bohol is K. Adenauer performance awardee

BOHOL has another feather tucked into its already heavily decorated cap – this time as the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) and Local Government Development Foundation (Logodef's) national winner in the search for a highly performing provincial government. In a letter to Gov. Erico Aumentado dated Nov. 10, KAS Country Representative Klaus Preschle and Logodef Board of Trustees Chair Nestor Pilar congratulated and invited him to the awarding ceremony at the Champagne Salon of the Manila Hotel on Dec. 6 at 9 a.m. Full story

Ka Aryong surrenders
This summarizes the hows and wherefores why political officer Domingo Samuya alias Ka Aryong of Front 1 of the Communist Party of the Philippines-National Democratic Front (CPP-NDF) in Bohol returned to the fold of the law. Accompanied by his wife Vitaliana, daughter Dovilia and cousin San Isidro Mayor Requillo Samuya, the former rebel (FR) took his oath of allegiance administered by Provincial Prosecutor Toribio Quiwag and witnessed by Gov. Erico Aumentado to make permanent his “leave of absence” from the movement following two operations for kidney stones. “I cannot take the rigors of a life on the run anymore,” the 49-year-old Ka Aryong said, hence he sought the mayor to relay his surrender feelers to the governor. NEDA , SC set rules in infrastructure projects

The National Economic and Development Authority and the Supreme Court are organizing a legal forum sometime this month with other government agencies and organizations engaged in infrastructure projects. The object of this forum is to thresh out problems, bottlenecks and other problems affecting implementation of infrastructure projects. Legal issues and consequences are also determined so such problem maybe addressed before a project is to be started. Full story

Talibon ups chances For rice production

The study aims to help farmers decide on suitable rice varieties in their rice fields. It also encourages farmers to minimize the use of inorganic or commercial fertilizer by using modified rapid composting using rice straws for composting and making organic fertilizer. With the field's acidity more becoming pronounced over the tears, a technology of lowering the acidity using dolomite may help farmers recover the fertility of their farms. Full story
