I WILL SING, I WILL PRAISE: JESUS HEALS ME!

“Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like eagles.”

I am Miss Shiela Mae Lagria, 16 years old. I live in Lomanoy, Lila, Bohol . I will praise the Lord Jesus for His love endures forever. I want to declare His glory and His marvelous deeds among people. I give Him thanks for the tremendous healing in His name of different diseases I encountered. Year 2002, I suffered asthma. Every time I was attacked, I suffered difficulty in breathing and I spent lots of sleepless nights. I had medications and I took extra care of avoiding excessive sweating, exposures to dust and sunlight. But no matter how careful I was, I was always suffering of that asthma, so, it caused burdened in my part. Year 2005, prayer meeting began in our place. My friends and neighbors joined the prayer meeting.

I was convinced by my co-youth and friends to get involved in the prayer every night. Starting from that day on, I read the bible all the time. I learned to use the name of Jesus as my protection. There was one night; I got fever associated with asthma. I locked in my room and prayed heartily. My mother who got worried of my condition knocked the door and asked me to take medicines. I told her that I prayed to Jesus for healing. I read the bible and claimed the promise of Jesus in Matthew 8:14-16. I claimed that by His words alone I will be healed. After the prayer, my difficulty in breathing subsided and I was able to have a sound sleep. Upon waking up, I was amazed; I was completely healed by prayer coupled with faith. Since then, I never experienced asthma until at present. I constantly pray and joined the daily prayer meeting. In June 2006, my mother suffered toothache. I told her to pray and read the bible as medicine. I told her that in prayer, I experienced healing but she ignored me because she never believed in prayer. The toothache lasted for two weeks. She took a lot of pain relievers but she experienced no healing. Our neighbors told her also to read the bible and pray for healing, again she ignored them.

One night; she was awakened by the pain of her tooth. She looked for a medicine but nothing was left. She couldn't bear the pain anymore. She took the bible and prayed heartily. She asked forgiveness for not believing Jesus. She read Psalm 51 and 91. After 30 minutes the pain subsided and she was able to sleep soundly and when she woke up, the toothache was completely gone. She cried for joy. Starting from that day, she joined the daily prayer meeting and she received the gift of faith. After a month, she experienced severe back pain due to her “piang”. Having been in the grace of faith, she never went to quack doctor or “manghihilot” as she was used to do before. She joined the daily prayer and claimed Jesus promises in Psalm 34. My father also experienced healing by faith. He chucked firewood and accidentally he hit his right leg and the wound was big. My mother automatically shouted in casting out the fear, infection and complication with faith in the name of Jesus.

They were amazed that only a very small amount of blood was coming out from the wound. Mama told papa to read the bible and pray. She told my papa that were both healed by prayer. My father accepted the offer without hesitations. No medications were given but only prayer. We really saw miracle for the wound automatically dried up and was healed. My younger brother, 4 years old, got fever. She asked my mother to pray and read the bible for him. He knows already how to use the name of Jesus to cast all evils and diseases. By his faith also, he experienced healing by the words of God. My whole family is now serving the Lord. I heartily praise and give thanks to Jesus for the gift of faith and unity of my family in serving Him.
