No backhoe overprice, Guv assures

KEEPING his cool under fire, Gov. Erico Aumentado the other day, disabused the minds of critics that there was something irregular in the Capitol's purchase of a hydraulic excavator or backhoe. Filling in for the defense during The Governor Reports, Gov. Aumentado said Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) review chaired by Provincial Legal Officer Handel Lagunay showed that the unit which Capitol bought was superior to Komatsu's PC 200LC-7A or Caterpillar's 320C. Investment Board suspends resort tax break application

FOR fear of throwing the Bohol Investment Board (BIB) into bad light, it held in abeyance the approval tax incentives of a resort investment in Panglao. The move came amidst what members perceive as discrepancies in the application and the lack of documentary requirements, Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Chairman Norris Joseph Oculam revealed early this week. Bohol sets up own Jatropha nursery

JATROPHA curcas, the wonder plant specie from the common tuba tuba finally finds a nursery here at the Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology (CVSCAFT).The development also marks the dawn of a massive local production of the plant, which contains bio-diesel in its seeds. After a process, the plant is touted to help the country shape up its national bio-diesel program as alternative for fossil fuels. Gov.
