Top military dads call “stop NPA support” |
AS EASY AS 1-2-3 . Calling for a stop in responding to the insurgent's extortion activities is the easiest way to tame the threat of local terrorism. Both Lt. Col. Cirilo Donato of the army's 15th Infantry Batallion (left) and Col. Ronnie Fajardo, Deputy Commander of the 302nd Brigade agree that by that, local terrorist threats would end. (PIA) |

JOINT calls for members of the communist terrorist movement (CTM) to go back to the legal embrace echo from Bohol 's top military commanders as the world reassesses anew its readiness for terrorist sabotage at the weekly Kapihan sa PIA. The call to “stop the support to the New People's Army” (NPA) came amidst an impending all out offensive to uproot the insurgents from the countryside. Ronnie Fajardo over the airlanes in a program broadcast over by DyTR here. Terrorism, Col. Ronnie Fajardo defines, is the manifestation of intent to be heard using of violent means. The issue popped up after the world gaped in astonishment at a renewed attempt to bomb a British Airways flight to America . Police also speculate that the plane could also be made as a flying bomb with the liquid explosives airport security have intercepted in London airport. While in Bohol , with no other groups classified as terrorists, local internal security keepers agree that the intention of the communists to seize power by violent means and supplant the legitimate government with communism puts tem in the category as terrorists. In fact, international organizations have put in the terrorist tag to the CPP/NPA/NDF. Local businessmen and politicians here have aired concern over the alleged extortionist activities of local rebels. Rebels have been demanding revolutionary taxes to run a parallel government, threatening people with reprisals for failure to give in to their demands. Demands have been financial or goods, perceived as to help perpetuate operations and sustain mass base. 302nd Brigade Deputy Commander Col. Ronnie Fajardo and 15th Infantry Battalion commanding officer Lt. Col. Cirilo Donato said if Boholanos stop paying revolutionary taxes and permits to campaign, then the threat from the group diminishes. “Kayong mga hinihingian, kung maari, huwag nang magbigay. Sana I-report nyo na lang sa amin at segurado naman natin, maaksyonan naming yan,” Lt. Col. Donato added. Pending a crucial anti-terrorism law to deal the nastiest bite against the terrorism here, the threat by the (CPP/NPA/NDF) remains as the only real “pain in the butt” for businessmen and government leaders. |
