Capability building for brgy. chiefs, scribes held

INABANGA – The Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB), the Association of Barangay Secretaries (ABS) and the Municipal Local Government Operations Office (MLGOO) here recently conducted a Gabay sa Mamamayan Action Center (GMAC) and Barangay Management Enhancement and Capability Building activity.

LnB President Gumersindo Melicor, ABS President Jed Lofranco and MLGOO Florencio Halasan Jr. led the group in visiting model GMAC centers and Barangay Offices in Bohol

Melicor said the visits aimed to acquire knowledge from the operators/barangay officials of the model GMAC Centers for replication in their own barangays. Specifically, he said, the LnB and ABS here want to enhance their barangay operations and formulate a re-entry plan to adopt to improve their own systems.

The team visited Barangays Nueva Estrella of Bien Unido and Camanaga of San Miguel where they noted best practices in barangay administration. They proceeded to Barangay Zamora of Bilar to learn from its GMAC operations.

The group expressed gratitude to Mayor Josephine Socorro Jumamoy for the full support in all their activities and for them enough opportunities to improve the management of their respective barangays. In their terminal report, the participants vowed to replicate the best practices of the model barangay GMAC and offices.
