2 die as motorcycle hits smack into bus

A motorcycle driver and his backrider died while still another one is in critical condition after their speeding motorcycle ran smack into an oncoming passenger bus in Carmen town, yesterday. A few days back, another Honda XRM motorcycle, while negotiating the same curve run into a white Mitsubishi FB van, injuring both motorcycle driver and backrider and breaking the windshield of the van.

It was not learned if the persons involved in that accident were injured or not. Yesterday, as if impressing anew that one must step on the brakes while negotiating a blind curve, the motorcycle driver identified as Silverio Gaudicos learned his last lesson too late. Speeding with backriders Gloria Baay and Madelyn Oliverio, 48 year-old Silverio took the notorious curve at Sitio Camanayon, Buenos Aires fast. Then a St. Jude passenger bus bearing body number 86 suddenly loomed into his path.

Gaudicos and his companions are accordingly from Camanaga in San Miguel town and were towards Batuan, while the bus was set for Ubay taking the interior route. Gaudicos' red Yamaha Crypton motorcycle was a mangled wreck when Carmen police responded to the alert and picket it up. The accident ultimately killed Gaudicos and Baay while the third motorcycle passenger Madelyn Oliverio is confined at Congressman Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital for serious medical attention. Bus driver who is a Carmen resident, Ben Alcala immediately surrendered to the police while the two vehicles are currently impounded at the Carmen police station, said local police authorities.
