EcoGov2 to present Panglao study result

PHILIPPINE Environmental Governance Project – Phase 2 (EcoGov2) is set to present to Governor Erico Aumentado and to the municipal mayors of Tagbilaran, Panglao, and Dauis the findings of their study of the Panglao Island this May 16, 2006 at the Flamingo 2 Bohol Tropics.

Undertaken by the local government units of Tagbilaran, Panglao, Dauis and the Provincial Government of Bohol, with EcoGov2, the study aims to provide a practical database as framework for decision makers in development planning and investment programming for their programs of quality of life improvements and related issues. This study runs in a crucial time where prospects for tourism industry in the island present as a puzzle worth working out.

Bohol has partnered with EcoGov and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) in enhancing capabilities of local government units especially in addressing critical threats to the country's coastal, water and forest resources. Partnership also extends to assistance in the implementation of both the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act and Clean Water Act.
