WHEN LIGHTNING STRIKES… |
PUROK shelter for three road maintenance crewmen proved to be as fatal in a lightning storm as a bolt zapped killing them on the spot Thursday afternoon in Triple Union Catigbian. Another 3 of their companions escaped the tragedy by remaining in the main portion of the nipa hut where the six sought refuge from the heavy downpour. The fatalities hid in the extension of the purok house where a clump of mahogany trees stands by. Full story |
Contrary to earlier manifestation, mayor defies Cease, Desist Order |
Contrary to what he declared in a formal manifestation, Panglao Mayor Doloreich Dumaluan has not complied with the cease-and-desist order (CDO) Dumaluan made the formal offer in a manifestation before the Region 7 Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) dated Sept. 5 in connection with the CDO issued against him last June 12 for violating environmental laws including the operation of the Dumaluan Beach resort without an environmental compliance certificate (ECC). AIPO delegates, observers vow to promote Bohol to countrymen |
Impressed with what they saw and felt, the members and observers vowed to promote Bohol back home as a tourism destination. Gov. Erico Aumentado welcomed the party at the Bohol Beach Club in the resort town of Panglao after they visited the world-renowned Chocolate Hills in Carmen town that morning, and took a cruise up the Loboc River on floating restaurants where they also had lunch. Bofamco to inaugurate Villar-funded projects |
BARRING any hitches, Senate President Manuel Villar Jr. will inaugurate this Saturday post-harvest facilities (PHF) acquired or constructed by the Bohol Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (Bofamco) worth P5 million from his Countrywide Development Fund (CDF). Gov. Erico Aumentado said the facilities, granted to Bofamco through the Department of Agriculture Region 7 office, are at the Bofamco Compound in Poblacion of Pilar town. Full story |
