Carlos Chan thanks provincial officials |
Carlos Chan expressed his deep gratitude to Gov. Erico Aumentado and to the members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan as he accepted the great honor of being declared as “Adopted Son of Bohol”. “I am humbled and elated by this recognition, which holds the promise of our long-term partnership and shared commitment to pursue meaningful endeavors to help develop the vast potentials of Bohol province as a major tourist, investment and cultural center of the country”, Mr. Chan stated in his letter to Gov. Aumentado. “I am one with you and your entire constituency in pioneering key projects that will serve well the interest of the Boholano community and contribute to our government's over-all goals of nation building and economic development”, Chan added. It may be recalled that after the successful trip of the Bohol delegation led by Gov. Aumentado to Jiangxi , China , the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved a resolution adopting Carlos Chan, who was responsible for arranging the Bohol and Jiangxi sisterhood pact. The resolution was a way of expressing commendation and gratitude of the Boholanos to Mr. Chan. Chan is a Filipino-Chinese taipan and chairman of the Liwayway (International) Company Limited and president of the Philippine Soong Ching Ling Foundation. He is also a member of the Jinagxi Economic Advisory Council. |
