Stop swertres in 1 month; Gov. AUMENTADO'S ULTIMATUM |
Gov. Erico Aumentado swung into action yesterday to nip in the bud the burgeoning suertres gambling racket, a takeoff of the popular masiao, where once upon a time in the past, caught the patronage of aficionados in the Visayas and Mindanao. Lim concerned about poison text messages |
City Mayor Dan Lim has expressed concern about the circulation of poison text messages directed against certain members of the Tagbilaran PNP and even he himself. “These past few days, there has been a noticeable resurgence of poison text messages intended to assail the credibility of certain policemen and even against me,” he said in an interview yesterday. Lim said the messages named three policemen who have been actively involved in the intensified campaign against drug pushing personalities in the city. Full story |

Thus Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado commented on the relations of the Republic of the Philippines and New Zealand following the bilateral talks of the two women-leaders representing both countries. The white-sand beach of Panglao Island and the calm pristine sea proved idyllic for President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and Prime Minister Helen Clark who talked counter-terrorism, trade and environment over mango shake and puto-maya while in the shade of a cogon-thatched beach “umbrella.” Puto-maya is glutinous rice steamed in ginger and coconut milk. GOV. Erico Aumentado sticks by the chronicle of world-renowned historian, Dr. Gregorio Zaide, that the blood compact of Boholano chieftain Datu Sikatuna and Spanish colonizer Capt. Miguel Lopez de Legazpi was on March 16, 1565 in Bool, Tagbilaran City and not March 25, 1565 in Hinawanan, Loay, Bohol. Full story |
Mr. Palengke commits P2M for city markets |
MARKET man Senator Manuel “Mar” Araneta Roxas II, pledged P2M for the city markets as he came over to Tagbilaran to speak before the general assembly of the Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Friday, March 17. Mr. Palengke, who arrived at the Tagbilaran City Airport was met by Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Regional director Asteria C. Caberte and Councilors George R.
