Jane Cajes: The sheer passion for service

By: Manuel Ferdinand Ramirez de Erio

When the history of humanity begun, women were mere subordinates to the masculine regime. For several millennia, women maintained their inferior status in the society and submissively abide by the rules imposed and controlled by masculine eccentricity. The dawning of the modern era paved the way for the liberation and empowerment of women. Thus, the emergence of lady state leaders, admired educators, and well respected personalities.Today, the young generation has ingeniously upheld women's significant participation and leadership in several institutions. From this roster rouse Jane Censoria del Rosario Cajes.

Jane was in Grade III when she chose to be of service to her fellow students. Since then, she has been in service as mayor for seven consecutive years as mayor and at the same time six consecutive years as level governor. Because of Jane's compassionate and concerned nature, she is fondly called “Mommy Jane” by her friends. “When they (friends) have problems they come to me for advices. I make sure to help them in every possible way I can,” she quipped.

Just recently, Jane won as President of the Holy Spirit School High School Department. Jane together with running mates Marie Louise Oppus (vice-president), Karina Mae Uy (secretary), Kimberly Cuarez (auditor), and Pet Ryan Baloco (P.R.O.) completed the landslide victory of the party “Mapagsilbing Asosasyong HSSian Alay para sa Lahat” (M.A.H.A.L.). At 15 years old, Jane is being tagged as “the next Roberto Cajes.” She construes this tag as a challenge on her part to do her best when she delivers her service to her fellow students.

Jane shall take her Oath of Office on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 and shall begin her term which she dreams to be remembered by the more approachable set of officials and mightier advocacy for the students' voices to be heard. Jane is second of the daughters of Bohol 's second district congressman Roberto “Ondoy” Cajes and Mrs. Judith del Rosario Cajes. Her whole family with older siblings Michael and Bohol SK federation president Francess Bobbith Cajes-Auza together with her younger sisters Joan Robie and Robie Rose “RR” shared the happiness for her victory and wished for a successful term as president. With the birth and the discovery of young leaders, there should be a better tomorrow for this thriving nation.
