Bilar town makes study of Jagna's ISWM program

There's no stopping for the Lakbay Aral participants of visiting Local Government Units either inside or outside Bohol , to drop by Jagna being part of their itineraries, just to observe and study the successful implementation of its Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Program exactly what the LGU-Bilar did on January 18. Headed by Mayor Fanuel Cadelina together with his department heads who compose LGU-Bilar's ESWM Technical Working Group (TWG) and American Peace Corps Volunteer Peter Gergen, the group positively interacted with Jagna's own TWG headed by Mayor Exuperio Lloren at the Capt. Goyo Casenas Hall.

Mayor Lloren personally welcomed and commended the Bilar officials for their strong commitment to implement the program as mandated by Republic Act 9003. “As a public official like you, I am willing to pass on to other government units any advancement we have in Jagna that would spell public welfare”, Mayor Lloren said. Sangguning Bayan member and TWG Chairman Senen Lloren gave a brief but comprehensive introduction of the subject at hand while ISWM Officer-in-charge Gerry Pagulon Jr. discussed the whole project scope. In the afternoon, the group toured at the Central Composting Facility at barangay Pagina and at the Materials Recovery Facility in barangay Tejero. Meanwhile the Social Marketing Communication Program billboards made of tarpaulin materials for Jagna's ISWM have arrived from Cebu courtesy of the GLOBE Telecom. The said materials will help promote awareness on the importance of the ISWM Project particularly the “segregation at source”.
