Schoof emulates life & ideals of Dr. J. P. Rizal

A German philanthropist emulated yesterday the life and times of Dr. Jose Rizal as the nation marked his 110 death anniversary. Mr. Hans Schoof was the guest of honor during the commemorative program yesterday at Plaza Rizal where a wreath laying and flag raising ceremonies were also held. In his speech, Schoof said he had been to several countries as Rizal did and he was amazed at how the people emulated the ideals of the greatest Filipino hero. “Rizal died 110 years ago but his ideals, live on,” Schoof said. To concretize his love for Rizal, Schoof was instrumental in establishing the local chapter in Bohol of the Knights of Rizal. He is the former deputy commander of the Knights of Rizal. Its supreme commander is former chief justice Hilario Davide, Jr.
