ARCDP2 here gets high WBank rating

By: Merly D. Bantugan

SATISFACTORY was a rating the recent World Bank Mission gave as a team visited here last week to monitor projects funded under the Second Agrarian Reform Communities Development Project (ARCDP2). The projects are implemented through the provincial office of the Department of Agrarian Reform. “We are very satisfied” says Teresa Quiñones, head of the World Bank Mission during the ARCDP2 Exit Conference held at the Meridian Hotel, this city.

For her part, Dr. Dorothy Lucks, World Bank Consultant nodded her assent on the quality and standard of the newly finished Farmers Multi-purpose Center in Libertad, Tubigon. She was so much impressed with the good partnership among the project implementor, the municipal government as represented by Mayor Paulo Lasco and the agrarian reform beneficiaries in the Agrarian Reform Communities (ARC) of Buenos Aires in Tubigon.

Buenos Aires also covers barangays Libertad, Cawayanan and Bunacan, which were represented by the punong baranagays and cooperative officials. On the other hand, Adelberto Baniqued, Chief Technical Advisor of ARCDP2 said that the support of the provincial government through Gov. Erico Aumentado, the three congressmen in the province, all municipal mayors and the farmer-beneficiaries keeps ARCDP2 project implementation in the right track.

Bohol Gov. Erico B. Aumentado shared his precious time to show support saying that the project is one strategy for poverty reduction and increasing income of the farmers in the province. Atty. Johnson A. Sinco, DAR Bohol Chief said that the very satisfactory rating is a hard earned point for the ARCDP2 provincial project office staff considering that with the inclusion of other 13 towns to the project, they really worked double time. Some other towns visited by the mission and received the hospitality of the mayors and the barangays folks include the municipality of Catigbian , Dimiao, Pilar, Talibon and Danao.
