FTCP hands out goodies at “Pasko sa Kabataan” |
By Lou Ronaldo T. Coloyan |
TRUE to its commitment, and in the spirit of the season, Feed the Children Philippines (FTCP) brings out the unmistakable smile to indigent children at Dampas landfill area with its annual Pasko sa Kabataan last Dec. 9. Rains spawned by typhoon Seniang failed to dampen the spirits as FTCP proceeded with the activities at the Dampas Elementary School and near the Divine Mercy chapel area where around 50 children from the area have gathered. The first party was at the school stage and rolled on from a dance number until the parlor games. FTCP National Director Esperanza Abellana and barangay executives took turns in delivering their Christmas messages. Gifts (courtesy of the staff's pooled donations) and food (donuts courtesy of Dunkin Donuts) were handed out to the children. The time also afforded FTCP to promote its vitameal packs by cooking it hot ala arroz caldo style, just right for the cold and rainy Saturday afternoon. Then FTCP proceeded to the next venue to further spread charity at the nearby Divine Mercy Chapel area. As it was raining so hard, the food and gifts were distributed from house to house so the children could still enjoy FTCP's shared blessing. |
