DBP launches the “Ready Set Roro”

THE country's nautical highways, roll-on-roll-off terminals become a venue for a challenging eight-leg competition spanning the entire archipelago, on October 25 to 27. A reality race that passes through the country's eight roro ports is brought now by Development Bank of the Philippines as they launch the Ready Set Roro. Qualified to enter each team are three members aged 18 to 30 year olds.

Team entry forms must contain the following complete information of each team member, inclusive of name, picture, birth date, current school course details and an essay explaining reason or joining the DBP Ready Set Roro Race on a short bond paper. The entries may be submitted to Tagbilaran Branch on or before September 22.

A shortlist of 25 semi-finals teams will be selected based on the merits of the submitted essays. To those teams who qualify, a DBP representative will visit every team member in their homes or places of work school to verify their submitted information. This will be the basis for selecting the final ten teams, five teams from Manila Luzon and another five teams from Visayas and Mindanao .

The contest, similar to reality shows also orients entry teams to comply with the rules and regulations of the contest. This would be done prior to the race. The rules and regulations contain the conditions for a team to be eliminated or to advance to the next challenge. The winners of each leg will compete in the final challenge in Boracay, where the awarding ceremonies will be held. The contest will be divided into two legs: Manila-Batangas-Calapan-Boracay and Dipolog-Dumaguete-Bacolod – Iloilo -Boracay.

The race assures a grand prize of P500T. A celebrity member of the winning team will receive P25,000 to be donated to charity of choice. Consolation prize is at P100T, while a celebrity member of the non-winning team that advanced to the finals will receive P50,000 to be donated to charity of choice.

The prizes for the celebrity-members are separately budgeted from the allocated prizes. For more information, call 411-3103, 500-0134 or email: dbprace@beginnings.com.ph .
