BWUI needs a week to decide on water pipes

By: Ronn Guingguing

TAGBILARAN City 's water provider, Bohol Water Utilities Inc. (BWUI) asks for a week to relocate their water pipes along CPG Avenue that runs along a road-right-of-way before Hanjin construction could finalize its works. According to BWUI operations manager, Engr. Felix Sunido Jr., the water utility company still has to conduct further studies and await for the management's approval regarding the matter.

Sunido added that BWUI considers the technical suggestions of Hanjin Construction through Engr. Gregorio Fullido, Bohol Circumferential Road Improvement Project Phase II consultant. Engr. Fullido has said that the BWUI water pipes should be relocated so as not to jeopardize future services in repairing the pipes. Hanjin is set to fully cover the road works with concrete.

Hanjin construction has temporarily suspended its drainage excavations and roadworks in some areas along Tagbilaran City 's main street to allow BWUI to implement the recommendations. According to Fullido, during a coordinating meeting with Gov. Erico Aumentado recently, the governor said that the relocation should be done as soon as possible for Hanjin to continue their construction and concreting work along CPG Avenue. However, the BWUI management said that it is not the water pipes that need to be relocated but the roadwork's drainage system.
