School heads take new assignments

INABANGA – “Teaching is more than teaching A-B-C or arithmetic; it is building the children's character.” Thus Mayor Josephine Socorro Jumamoy reminded the school principals and teachers-in-charge who were to take on new assignments within their respective districts in a bienvenida-despedida party Saturday afternoon at the Inabanga Fishing Village .

“You must be teachers in the real sense of the word – mold children into useful citizens of the future,” Jumamoy said. Jumamoy expressed gratitude to the teachers for being supportive of her administration's major thrust of giving a bright future to the children.

The administrators committed to take up the mayor's challenge by “blooming where they are planted, like missionaries ready to go where their services are needed.” For one, Principal Grace Wilder of the Inabanga Central Elementary School (ICES) is now the District In-Charge. She replaces Carmela Restificar who is now a Division Supervisor.
