Jagna sends PDC to National water workshop

JAGNA – THIS town recently sent its Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Engr. Ronie Galabo to the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) nationwide assembly. Engr. Galabo attended the 3-day workshop March 27-29, at the Makati Palace Hotel, Makati City as one of the participants from four Bohol towns. He represented the town waterworks utility. The assembly was called to determine an expanded benchmark of the town's water utilities throughout the country. The output oriented workshop was funded by the Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) of the World Bank.

Pambansang Lupon sa mga Yamang Tubig benchmarking adviser Cesar Yniguez was the main facilitator. Addressing people's concerns was deliberated by Yniguez, considering also the environmental conditions of every locality. In NWRB's survey questionnaire sent March 13, it showed that Jagna had prioritized rehabilitation program for the system, water quality monitoring, reducing the non-revenue water, metering and peer to peer learning. Tagbilaran City 's water server, Bohol Water Utilities Incorporated (BWUI) was pointed out as potential technical assistance source for Jagna. The municipal water utilities can also learn the methods, techniques of management from their counterparts in other localities to improve their services and provide a quality output to the constituents, survey showed.
