2 Boholanos die in Batasan blast

Two Boholanos, one who traced her roots to Maribojoc and one from Camayaan, Loboc town, were among the fatalities of the bomb explosion that rocked the Batasan Pambansa parking bay Tuesday evening. Maan Gale Bustaliño, whose father is from Maribojoc, was a staff of Oriental Negros Rep. Pryde Henry Teves who was also hurt in the blast. She grew up in Dipolog City and finished her studies at UP Diliman. Her several trips to Bohol helped her trace her roots. Friends remember her as one who had a happy disposition in life. The other Boholano casualty in the blast was the Loboc native identified as Marcial Taldo, 64, driver of Gabriela party-list Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan.

The Boholano fatality was identified as a Loboc native by his cousin Hedilito Taldo, secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan of Loboc. The SB secretary was interviewed Wednesday during DYTR's Cuentas Claras to confirm his relation with the Batasan blast victim. Taldo said his cousin was a longtime Davao resident and as far as he can remember that it was a long time that he returned home. Taldo was one of the four fatalities of the Batasan blast. One of the prominent victims was Rep. Wahab Akbar of Basilan. The two other victims were the driver of Cong. Akbar while the other one was the chief of staff of Negros Oriental Rep. Henry Teves. The Negros solon was also wounded in the attack along with 10 others.
