BIEN UNIDO-Under the new leadership of Mayor Niño Rey Boniel, the Coastal Law Enforcement Council of the 2nd congressional district (CLEC-2) gears towards more intensified efforts on preserving the ecological balance along world-renowned Danajon double-barrier reef. CLEC-2, which jurisdiction include the stretch of Danajon Reef, tried to come up with a refined operational routine that will place the double-barrier reef's protection on top of other issues and concerns.
This was discussed during the recent meeting of CLEC-2 presided by Mayor Boniel. Boniel called on other coastal towns in the jurisdiction of CLEC-2 to work together for a better coastal management to address ecological issues. Also during the council meeting, former CLEC-2 chairman Mayor Eutiquio Bernales of Ubay turned over the patrol boat to Mayor Boniel.
The council also held an election of officers wherein Buenavista Vice-Mayor Ronald Lowel Tirol was chosen vice chairman; Diosdado Jimenez of Bien Unido, secretary; Bien Unido Sangguniang Bayan (SB) Member Sotero Macua Jr., treasurer; Talibon SB Member Jose Wayne Evardo, auditor; while the press relations officers are Anecita Gulayan of FISH project and Wenny Reyes of the local media. |
