The Loboc Children's Choir (LCC) won 2nd place under the Youth Choir category at the 12th China International Chorus Festival (ICF) held from July 29 to August 4 in Beijing, China. The 12th ICF was held together with the IFCM World Youth Choral Education Conference, which included four main parts: forum/conference, competition/concert, education/exchange and public service activities. In the weeklong Festival, the LCC performed at the opening concert on 29 July 2014 at the Great Hall of the People, along with choirs from China, Mexico, Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, United States, Egypt, Portugal, South Africa, Ukraine and Nigeria.
LCC also performed in a solo concert on 01 August 2014 at the National Library Arts Centre, to general acclaim and standing ovation. As part of the activities during the IFCM World Youth Choral Education Conference, the LCC's musical director and conductor, Ms. Alma Taldo held a workshop while the LCC performed at a Chorale Exchange performance on 30 July 2014 at the Beihang University Concert Hall. The LCC is a school-based choir composed of children between the ages of nine and thirteen years old of the Loboc Central Elementary School in Loboc, Bohol, Philippines. In 2013, LCC gave a moving rendition of “The Prayer” in front of the 16th Century Loboc Church after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake destroyed the historic monument. The 12th ICF and IFCM World Youth Choral Education Conference was organized by the International Federation of Choral Music (IFCM) together with the Chinese Ministry of Culture and the China Arts and Entertainment Group.
