Baba to fast-track P114-M rehab projects

 

A totally renovated City Hall Building, Rehabilitated Public Markets in Cogon, Manga, Dao and Central Market, Senior Citizens Building, Agricultural Training Institute in Cabawan, Rehabilitated Barangay Halls and Barangay Health Stations are among the upcoming infrastructure projects in Tagbilaran City. With the P114.47 Million Bohol Earthquake Assistance-DILG Fund already in place, the city will soon avail of these facilities, according to City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap who convened the Technical Working Group of the rehabilitation initiatives of the city government last week and encouraged everyone to focus their technical expertise in these major projects.

The mayor said these infrastructures should be finished in the soonest possible time for it will be a beacon that Tagbilaran has indeed moved on. Yap believes that sound infrastructure development is one major area that the city government should focus on since it will harness its potentials of becoming a haven of enterprises which could generate employment and increase local income. Meanwhile, Engr. Ted Estoque, chair of the technical working group in the City Hall Rehabilitation project, reported that the re-roofing work in the building will be finished in four months and Phase 2 of the rehabilitation work will soon commence. The P80-million construction project which includes exterior and interior demolition, ground repair, tile works, ceiling, electrical wirings and painting job is now up for bidding.
