Mayor Che grabs first prize in mixed crew dragon boat race

 

Mayor Che paddlers dominated the Mixed Crew category 500-meter dragon boat race when it was declared as the first place winner during the Mayor Baba Yap Dragon boat competition held at calm seawaters of between the seaport and the K of C sealanes yesterday (Saturday). Mayor Chepaddlers team is the creation of former Mayor Che delos Reyes of Carmen town.  It clocked an impressive feat of 2 minutes and 27'08 seconds as against its arch-rival, Dargonista's time of 2 minutes and 30'79 seconds that put them in second place in a Mixed Crew race as hundreds of cheerers and jeerers jam-packed the K of C promenade of barangay Poblacion II yesterday afternoon. Came in third is the BPPO Angels, clocking 2 minutes and 37'52 seconds and Holy Name University's Marlins, 4th place, with 2 minutes and 58'62 seconds.

 In all women category, BPPO Angels came out the winner, clocking 2 minutes and 37'76 seconds, a wink of eye ahead of the Mayor Che paddlers, 2nd, clocking 2 minutes and 38'18 seconds in smashing the finish line. HNU Marlins came in third with 3 minutes and 04' 04 duration from start line at sea the city port. Barangay Totolan team grabbed the first place with 2 minutes and 21'41 seconds in Open category of the Dragon boat competition. Dauis paddlers followed as second place with 2 minutes and 21'88; Tubigon A, third, clocking 2 minutes and 22'31; and the 4th is Mayacabac of Dauis town with its impressive 2 minutes and 23'00 seconds. Under the Inter-barangay category, Ubujan emerged 1st with its striking time of 2 minutes and 23'20 seconds. Barangay Manga A team is second with 2 minutes and 23'71; Poblacion II, 3rd place with 2 minutes and 24'31; and fourth place went to Tabacco paddlers clocking 2 minutes and 26'08 seconds. (RVO)
