The Earth's magnetic fieldis like a giant invisible mist thatshields us from harmful cosmic rays or deadly solar radiation.Study showsour planetearth has a giant ball of iron at its core surrounded by an outer layer of molten metal. The motions of the earth's rotation in the ball of molten iron, result electrical currents in the outer part of the core creating the planet-wide magnetic field. This magnetic field produce the beautiful auroral displays, and an invaluable aid to navigation, where many still rely on their compass pointing to the magnetic north. The magnetic field is also a big help in predicting earthquakes, and pinpoint areas that are rich in natural resources. Scientific expeditions reveal the magnetic pole's position in 1831 and 1904 were roughly of the same place. Since then, it jumps around from day to day and year to year and drifted slowly northward.
Recent data shows the position of the magnetic pole is changing at an increasing ratefour times faster than it used to, and it is now moving northward, away from Canada to Siberia. The new data also revealed the field is weakening at 5 percent per decade, or 10 times faster than thought. Researchers suggest the reason for the wandering of the magnetic pole and the weakening of the magnetic field is that it could be the start of a geomagnetic reversal, of which scientists say it is a normal flipping cycle. According to the experts, once every few hundred thousand years the magnetic poles flip so that a compass would point south instead of north. Such events occur about every 250,000 years and it has been 750,000 years since the last reversal. Geological record revealed, it will not happen quickly but will take thousands of years with no evidence in the past that it affected life on earth seriously. Things like this shows how awesome is the Creator of all things that were created.

Tidbits:
In an age of globalization, leaders have discussions that are about political beliefs – more government, less government, different government.People are worried that their country is changing beyond recognition, and that they are being ruled by huge, distant forces, that are beyond their control and by people who do not share their values. The force that seems to be moving the world these days is not political philosophy, but political identity. Who are we? And who are we not?
