Massive manhunt nets 150 suspects

Ensuring that individuals pay for the crimes they had allegedly committed, the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), upon orders of crimebuster Col. Dennis Agustin, has been aggressively conducting a massive manhunt of wanted persons in Bohol resulting to the arrest of at least 150 suspects. From January to June 2014, police have been tracking down the whereabouts of several suspects whose wrongdoings may have been forgotten by the previous PNP leadership. Upon assumption as Bohol PNP director, Agustin reviewed the status of various suspected criminals and he learned that many of them have been roaming free as if they had done anything wrong. “We have to arrest all wanted persons so that justice can be served to the offended parties,” Agustin said.

He said that while BPPO is waging a critical war on illegal drugs, which had cost the lives of two town police chiefs, the Bohol police command is also seeing to it that those who had violated the law, or had been convicted by court, should serve jail sentence. Prior to the start of 2014, the BPPO had also nabbed several high-profile most wanted persons not only in the province but also outside Bohol. But the police admitted that implementing an arrest warrant outside Bohol costs a lot of money, and the arresting police officers may at times have to shell out their own money during the operation. Agustin underscored the importance of arresting wanted individuals, saying that if wanted persons remain free, they could pose risk to the stability of society. “Kung hindi sila makulong, maaring gagawin naman nila ang ginawang kasalanan,” Agustin said. Following is the list of wanted persons, believed to be the biggest haul ever in the history of Bohol police, who all came from different backgrounds, with corresponding crimes alleged:
