Cong. Rene richest among 3 lawmakers

If material possessions were a gauge as to who among Bohol's three congressmen is the most valuable person, First District Rep. Renelampagos would come out as winner while Second District Rep. Aris Aumentado, the last placer. Based on last year's Statements on Assets and Liability Net (SALN) submitted by the three lawmakers – Relampagos, Aumentado, and Art Yap – Relampagos has come out as the richest legislator among the three, and Yap, second. Relampagos has declared that his total assets are worth P29,575,027.31, with liabilities amounting to P988,974.22, resulting to a total networth of P28,586,053.09.Relampagos' assets come from P11,882,220.00 value of his real properties and P17,692,807.31 worth of his personal properties.

Yap is not far from behind of Relampagos. The third-district solon has a total networth of P25,700,410.11, out of his total assets worth P25,700,410.11 and “zero” liability. Yap has P15,100,000.00 worth of real properties and P10,600,410.11, personal properties. Aumentado, son of the late Gov. Erico Aumentado, has emerged as one of the poorest congressmen in the country, with a total networth of only P5,292,814.00. His total assets reach P8,415,200.00 while his liabilities are pegged at P3,122,386.00. Aris, as he is more commonly known, has real properties valued at P525,700 and personal properties, P7,889,500.

The SALN summaries reported by online news site rappler.com did not contain details of the sources of income and properties, as officially declared in paper by the three congressmen. Reacting to the disclosure of congressmen's SALNs, a reader has commented: “It doesn't matter how much you have accumulated in this life; the biggest question is how you accumulated your wealth.” Meanwhile, the 25 richest congressmen in the country have been identified, with Sarangani Rep.
