Following the entrapment operation of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Bohol) which resulted to the arrest of DYTR's anchorman, Roger Balamad, the radio station's general manager has abruptly resigned, citing commitments to his work in the barangay as reason for quitting. Lito Responte, whose booming, distinctive voice has made him famous for years during his stint at DYTR, finally said “enough is enough” and tendered his resignation this week. The resignation has shocked members of Bohol media who have considered Responte as the “last man standing” who could have saved the station from all sorts of problems that continue to plague the media outlet when it gave its heart and mind to the administration of ex-city mayor Dan Lim.
Responte, according to sources, has been replaced by Vangie Bumaat. Ted Aying, the station manager, did not quit his post, but he has been assigned as sales consultant for the station. Aying's partner in Kwentas Klaras' program, Atty. Salva Diputado, will have his fate decided once the new management will take over operations. A source said that the station's management based in Manila would soon appoint a new station manager from Cebu City. The resignation of Responte, in the mind of media personalities in Bohol, will remain a troubling mystery, like the puzzling disappearance of Malaysia Airlines' Flight MH370.
