City anti-drug drive hits fever pitch with arrest of 6 suspects

 

The city's anti-drug campaign hit fever pitch last week as several cases of drug peddling were put to a stop with the arrest of at least six suspects. On top of the campaign is Police Supt. Jovito Atanacio, city police chief, who on orders of City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” to step up the operations against drug offenders. Three of the suspected drug pushers were arrested by the City PNP together with the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) in coordination with the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency-Bohol during a buy bust operation conducted last February 1 at around 4:30 in the afternoon along Marapao Street, Poblacion III, this city. The suspect who was identified as one Junry Maglisay, 23 years old was arrested together with a certain Christian Factor, 21, single, also residing in Marapao St, Tagbilaran City. Confiscated items were: 1 piece of small transparent cellophane sachet containing suspected shabu granules used as the subject of sale; 1 piece P500.00 bill bearing serial no. HM 474349 used as marked money, and another 6 pieces of small transparent cellophane sachets containing suspected shabu granules; 1 piece empty transparent cellophane sachet; cash money amounting to P2,700.00; 2 units of cellular phones (NOKIA, SAMSUNG); 1 piece wallet; and 1 unit Honda XRM motorcycle with plate #YT 9417.

The second suspect who was identified as a certain Devon Carl Somosot aka “Bunso”, 25 years old, also a resident of Marapao Street, Poblacion III, this city, was also arrested thru a raid/search operation. Recovered and seized items from the suspect's possession were; 14 pieces small transparent cellophane sachets containing suspected shabu granules; 2 pieces needles; 2 aluminum foils in different sizes; 1 piece plastic scoop; 2 pieces improvised tooter; 6 pieces lighters; 1 piece half blade; 2 pieces bamboo clips; 2 pairs of scissors; 2 pieces Kelly Straight containers; 1 plastic case; 3 units of cellular phones in different brands (NOKIA,SAMSUNG); 1 piece Ammo form; and cash money amounting to P7,600.00 in different denominations. They also arrested his companions identified as certain Rendell Bantawig, 23, a resident of Poblacion Dampas District, this city, and a certain Ma. Haseel Roluma, a native of Poblacion Maribojoc, Bohol, who attempted to conceal the plastic case containing the 14 pieces of small transparent cellophane sachets containing the suspected shabu granules. All the recovered and confiscated evidences were inventoried before the suspects and were witnessed by Zacarias Castro, a representative from the DOJ, and barangay officials of Poblacion III barangay kagawads Eduardo Padua and Felixberto Remolador. The suspects were arrested for violation of Sections 5, 11 & 12 of Article II of RA 9165.

Another entrapment operation was conducted on that same day of February 01, 2014 at around 5:00 in the afternoon at Miguel Parras corner F. Ingles Street, Tagbilaran City. The suspect who was identified as a certain Dexter Baal “Blackpair”, 23, single, and a native of Poblacion Batuan, Bohol was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued by Presiding Judge Sisinio C. Vertudazo. Baal was arrested in violation of Sec.11 & 12 of Article II of RA 9165. The operation was led by the elements of Tagbilaran City Police Station with SPO3 Yolando Bagotchay, PO2 Ignacio Inojales ug PO1 Proceso Paragoso. The suspects are now temporarily detained at Tagbilaran City Police Station locked-up jail while waiting for the appropriate charges to be filed from our City Prosecutor's Office.
