Call it our sort of calvary not of our own making. We hope that as time goes by, we'll be able to hurdle this ‘temporary setback' with effortless ease. For one, it's one hurdle thrown our way, not self-inflicted nor self-imposed, but circumstantial at best. As one who engaged in business subject to market forces, we have been in this predicament for some time. But persevere we did hoping that at the end of the day the economic climate will improve. There are signs that indeed there is hope for a new day in business looming in the vast horizon. Despite the calamitous event that we had last year, business seems packing a lot of promise for a great turnaround. God willing it will be for good and we are back in the saddle with a vengeance. One indication that things were looking up took place just days earlier.
Saddled with a P100,000 loan from a friend like no other, an improved cash flow enabled us to pay the credit line extended to us after a long while. Although our one-of-a kind creditor never bother to remind us of our obligation, we made it a point to settle the same as soon as our cash cow showed signs that it is ready for slaughter. Indeed it was a long and arduous climb to the top given our saving frenzy to raise the amount needed to settle the credit extended to us. Our mantra is to maintain a good credit standing so that next time around that we made a distress call for another fund bail out there's no hesitation on the part of the creditor to become as always the “white knight in shining armor”.
There's no telling that we can now afford to say never again (read: not to borrow again)at this point of our precarious business footing. For all you know, things can happen not the way we like it to be. The worst that can happen is when we thought that what we are seeing is a light at the end of the tunnel, only to learn albeit lately that it is that of an ongoing train running in our direction. Good riddance if we will be able to get off the rail track just in time before the speeding train smashes us to smithereens.
