In recognition of his attainments and exemplary Christian humanitarian service, University of Bohol President lawyer Victoriano B. Tirol, Jr. was conferred title by the Northwestern Christian University (NCU), Florida, USA, as Doctor of Philosophy in Humanities, honoris causa, last Aug. 26. NCU is a state authorized and theologically certified institution of higher learning and an alma mater of Billy Graham, a re-known American evangelist. Tirol’s conferment was presented in fitting ceremonies held in Cassiopeia Theater at Cristal e-College. The corresponding diploma was signed by Bishops Seth M. Lagunda, Th.D., D.D., president, NCU International Fellowships/Consortium Inc. and Samuel Galloza, Ph.D., D.D., president NTS/NCU U.S.A./Worldwide.

Tirol, who holds several degrees in Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Education, is also a Doctor in Divinity. He founded Christ, the Solid Rock Gospel Ministries, Inc. in 2011. He established Cristal e College , one of the leading maritime schools in the country and additionally offers AB Theology in its Panglao campus. Dr. Tirol is also the founder of Rev. Martin A. Belarmino Foundation which supports the education of children of evangelical ministers. He is also the President and Bishop of the Confederation of Evangelical Ministries in Bohol, Inc. (CEMIBI).
