Daughter of Loay mayor grabs 2nd top PCL position

A daughter of Loay Mayor Rosemarie Lim-Imboy and Board Member Brigido Imboy who happens to be the number one councilor of the town was elected handily as the executive vice president of the Philippine Councilor’s League in a hotly-contested elections Friday at the Bohol Plaza Resort. The Imboy couple was very visible during the PCL elections in their campaign to have the tandem of Getafe Councilor Antonio “Tonypet” Quano, Jr. and their daughter Rochelle Brigitte “RB” Imboy won the fight. Quano won the PCL presidency against incumbent Ramonito “Monching” Torrefranca. Pitted against re-electionist Ariel Lungay of Catigbian, the young Imboy polled 234 or a difference of 23 votes against her close rival to win the second top post of the PCL.

The youngest councilor Bohol ever had at 22, RB is a second year law student at the University of San Carlos. Her pre-law, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Legal Management, was also finished at the same Cebu school. According to observers, her election to the PCL post demolished the notion that the Imboy couple are facing several issues in Loay. With so many issues thrown against the couple including corruption, the election of a daughter to a top PCL post, only showed that the Imboys were not affected by any political muck. Before becoming a Loay councilor, RB was an SK chair of Loay from 2007-2010 earning her the right of becoming an ex-officio member of the Loay Sangguniang Bayan. As Loay councilor, she chairs three committees, namely, appropriation, ways and means and on infrastructure and town planning.
