BISU Clarin campus wins Bohol Sandugo street dancing challenge

The Bohol Sandugo, launched 25 years back, came to a stunning conclusion, with the winner of the street dancing besting all other participating contingents. This time, the Bohol Island State University (BISU) Clarin town campus, was adjudged last Sunday as the grand champion in the street dance competition. The BISU contingent received from Bohol Sandugo Foundation cash prize of P300,000. It also bagged the “Best in Street Dance” and “Production Design” with P 45,000 each award from among the six contenders this year. First runner-up went to Catigbian town represented by Immaculate Mary Academy (IMA) with tag prize of P225,000 and 2ndrunner-up to Panglao town represented by barangay Doljo , receiving P175,000. The “mardi gras” started with a parade from tourist seaport past one PM for a three kilometer parade on the way to Pres. Carlos P. Garcia sports complex. While the parade was going on, a sky dive exhibition awed the thousands of spectators lining up the streets to witness the parade.

The participation of Kapuso GMA 7 celebrities the likes of Dio Ignacio, Bianca King and others spiced up the street dance show. Marian Rivera and boyfriend Dingdong Dantes of GMA 7 entertained the crowd after the street- dance proper and fireworks show at the complex. Gov. Edgar Chatto and wife and City Mayor Baba Yap and his better-half graced the affair with the presence of Rep. Rene Relampagos (1st dist) and Rep. Aris Aumentado (2nd dist) and Rep. Arthur Yap and Sandugo Foundation president Mariano Uy were there to grace 448th year celebration of the famous Blood Compact between then Gen. Miguel Lopez de Legaspi and native chieftain Datu Sikatuna. (RVO)
