7 killings in 1week’s time!

 

The week that was saw a spate of violent killings in Bohol which was considered unusual in what otherwise is a peaceful province. In a summary of deaths as collated by Post reporters, it showed that at least seven killings took place in Bohol since Sunday last week. Last Sunday saw the murder of a wife by her own husband in barangay Tigbao, Loboc town. Using a kitchen knife, an irate husband attacked his own wife resulting in her instant death. The dead wife left three children, all girls.

The suspect identified as Juanito Malig-on, surrendered to the Loboc Police Station after killing his wife identified only as Mercy, 35. Another report of a dead person was a suicide case in barangay San Agustin, S-Bullones. Identified as Noel Olbenario, 29, and a resident of the same barangay, he reportedly killed himself using an undetermined cal. revolver. According to police reports, the victim killed himself in front of his horrified family. No motive was cited in the suicide. In another shooting incident, this time in Ubay, in barangay Tapon, a driver of a patrol car identified as Herman Tabuada, 63, married of the said barangay was hacked and then was shot to death. The fatality was identified as Joel Gamalo, 23, single and a resident of Poblacion Oriental, Valencia, Bohol. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Gov. Gallares Memorial Hospital after he was hit by the multicab driven by a certain Adrian Placido of Carmen town. In Clarin town, a sketchy report showed that a son killed his own father in another case of violent incidence. Killed was a certain Quirino Llanto, 45, married, a fisherman who was killed by his own son identified as John Ericson Llanto, 24, married of the same barangay. In Loon, a 13 year old boy was lunged to death using a blunt instrument by at least two suspects identified as Joebert Palma, 43, single of Canmaag, Loon town and Juan Miral, 49, single, and a resident of barangay Catagbacan of the same town. The otherwise peaceful municipality of San Isidro was jolted with the death Wednesday evening of Luis Payosan y Alvarado, 56 years old, married and a resident of barangay Guiwanon, Tubigon town. He was hacked to death by the suspect identified as Jovencio Ompoy, 30, single and a resident if barangay Causwagan, San Isidro. The victim was killed with the use of his own bladed weapon. He was killed by the suspect by slashing his neck resulting in his dead on arrival at the Catigbian Community Hospital.
