MANILA. - Bohol Gov. Edgar M. Chatto was among a select group of governors who took their oath of office administered by Pres. Benigno Simeon Aquino III. The oath of office took place at the Rizal Hall of the Malacañang Palace just before noon time on June 13, 2013. Chatto attended the ceremony with wife and Balilihan Vice Mayor-elect Pureza Veloso-Chatto upon the invitation of the president himself. On the same occasion, Pnoy administered the oath of office of Senators Loren Legarda, Grace Poe, Chiz Escudero, Koko Pimentel, and Sonny Angara. Top officials of the Aquino administration witnessed the ceremonies including Sec. Mar Roxas, Sec. Joel Rocamora, and Sen. Franklin Drilon. Meanwhile, Gov. Chatto is set to lead Bohol provincial officials including Bohol representatives of the three congressional districts in formal oath taking rites on June 30, 2013 at the Bohol Cultural Center. Chatto will take his oath before Justice Gabriel Ingles of the Court of Appeals while the rest of the provincial officials will take their oaths before Boholano judges. A thanksgiving mass to be officiated by Bishop Leonardo Medroso will precede the ceremony. The new term of all duly elected and re-elected officials of the May 2013 elections is set by law at noontime of June 30, 2013. (Leah/EDCOM)
