GONZAGA-VELOSO LEAD SURVEY: Toto Veloso thanks city residents for love, trust, support

Following his strong showing in Friday’s HNU-Bohol Poll that has forecast the losers and winners in tomorrow’s elections, City Vice Mayoralty candidate Toto Veloso has expressed enormous gratitude to the people of Tagbilaran who have showered him the loudest confidence to stand as Atty. Dodong Gonzaga’s partner for Tagbilaran’s progress and revival. In an exclusive interview with the Post, and in a voice that speaks volumes of love and thanksgiving, Veloso said he is grateful to God, to the city’s patron saint (San Jose), to the people of Tagbilaran, to his family and relatives and friends, and to his Liberal Party comrades, being the forces behind his rousing lead in the city vice mayoralty race. Based on HNU-Bohol Poll results released to the public Friday, Veloso emerged as the top contender at City Hall’s legislative power with 47% advantage, way ahead of Kit Oppus’s 25%. City Vice-Mayor Nuevas Tirol-Montes landed third. Veloso’s lead was relatively high in classes ABC (50%) and E (50%), male (58%), age groups 18-24 (69%) and 35-44 (52%), the HNU survey results reveal.

“The voters of Veloso and Oppus had the same level of commitment for them at 79% and 80%, respectively,” it adds. Veloso, once a city councilor and former city vice-mayor, praised the people of Tagbilaran “for they have opened their eyes and have seen the truth” as to who should manage the affairs of the city and bring in peace and prosperity here. Without naming names, Veloso said the city has been terribly mismanaged, with rampant corruption at City Hall in record-breaking amounts lost and stolen, “the people of Tagbilaran deserve leaders who exemplify President Noynoy Aquino’s Daang Matuwid principle of governance.” He said he is also grateful to the people of Tagbilaran for putting Atty. Dodong Gonzaga in the highest pedestal of city mayoralty race with 47% compared to Baba Yap’s 27%. “Ang mga katawhan sa Tagbilaran nakasabot sa atong pakigbisog ug panglantaw nga alisdan ang dagway sa syudad ug limpyohon ang imahen sa dakbayan nga gibuling-bulingan,” Veloso said. “Nakita sa mga katawhan ang kasinsero sa among tumong ug tinguha. Gidawat sa mga katawhan ang among hangyo nga tabangan mi sa among paningkamot nga mahatagan ug kalamboan ang syudad,” he said. Veloso also thanks city residents and the people of Bohol in general for placing Gov. Edgar Chatto and Vice-Gov Concepcion Lim and Rep. Rene Relampagos as sure winners in tomorrow’s mid-term elections, based on the tremendous lead the three have gained over their rivals in the latest HNU-Bohol Poll.
