2 Bohol ex-governors endorse ‘JV’ Estrada

San Juan Rep. JV Ejercito Estrada’s bid for a Senate seat on May 13, 2013 election is boosted in Bohol with the open support of two ex-governors.  As proof of their support, former Gov. Rolando Butalid and Gov. David B. Tirol issued a statement for their unwavering support to JV Estrada.  In an interview with the media yesterday, then governor Rolando Butalid G. was unequivocal in expressing his support of JV Estrada, son of former Philippine president Joseph “Erap” Estrada. He told the media here that JV Estrada, as former San Mayor mayor has turned the town around, making it an investment-friendly local government unit in Metro Manila. The turnaround was when the town only earned a measly annual income of about P300 million into a billion-peso-government-enterprise, he said. Butalid added that JV Estrada has also the heart for the senior citizens.

The ex-governors has this to say: “We hereby affirm our support to the candidacy of JV Ejercito Estrada and rally all Boholanos and Filipinos to join us hand in hand in giving him an opportunity on May 13, 2013 to serve the Republic and change the nation forever.”  “In the light of JV Ejercito Estrada’s remarkable credentials, outstanding performance in government service, excellent academic record, and workable and pro-poor platform of governance that touch every sector of our society.”  “We, former Governors of the Province of Bohol whose public service and noble leadership spanned four decades, believe that Bohol’s economic boom must be sustained by a genuine voice in the Senate who truly cares for the welfare of every Boholano and every Filipino in general.”  “We believe that the 2013 elections must transcend political boundaries and party affiliations wherein people’s electoral decisions must be based on a candidate’s realistic and concrete platform of governance, uncompromising integrity, consistent good performance in government service and leadership, and authentic passion and commitment to serve and enhance the economic condition of every member of the Filipino society.”

“That we find the above characteristics and qualifications in the person of JV Ejercito Estrada, the only senatorial candidate in the country who has sought our time-tested knowledge and wisdom despite the fact that JV belongs to a younger generation.”  That such gesture of seeking our visions for Bohol and for the country manifests JV’s great respect for the elderly who had seen it all, the good times and the bad times that this Province had gone through, and the Province’s rise from being an unnoticed place in the planet to today’s premiere position in the world tourism map.  “We therefore call on every development-loving Boholano living here and elsewhere in the country and abroad to place their all-out support to the senatorial dream of JV Ejercito Estrada whom we believe as the most eligible and capable senatorial aspirant who can stir real economic transformations in Bohol, in every province of the country, in every city and municipality, and who can duplicat the economic success that JV Ejercito Estrada has done in the City of San Juan, where before he was elected mayor of San Juan, the city’s annual income was only P300 Million, but because of JV’s leadership and hard work, he turned San Juan into a behemoth source of government revenue with P1 Billion annual income.”

The revenue-collection feat alone, among the many accomplishments of JV Ejercito Estrada, is an enduring testament to his capacity to initiate and institute economic development in the country.  “We strongly believe that JV Ejercito Estrada is sincere and honest in his desire to serve the country as already manifested in his legacy as Mayor of San Juan for three consecutive terms and Congressman of San Juan District since 2010.”  “As congressman, JV Ejercito Estrada authored, among many other bills, the Kasambahay Bill, the life-changing law that has brought joys to all house helpers and their dependents, a proof of his love for the poor and for all ordinary workers in the country,” the former governors said.
