A Boholano professor, Ramon Clarete, Ph.D, dean of the UP College of Economic, acknowledged his provincimate during the commencement exercises. Guingguing is one of the nominees of Jose Encarnacion, Jr. Award for Excellence in Economics and also a nominee of Gerardo Sicat Award for Best Undergraduate Thesis. Guingguing graduated at Holy Spirit School in elementary with honors and Tagbilaran City Science High School in Secondary as salutatorian.
