One more lie is added to the grave blunders of Carmen Mayor Conchita Delos Reyes who falsely accused Gov. Edgar Chatto of an anomalous P32 million heavy equipment deal otherwise done in Aumentado’s time. The Bag-ong Bol-anon gubernatorial bet who has been charged with swindling, estafa and other crimes in different courts in the country even intimated to sue Chatto in the Ombudsman for graft and corruption. But like in the beginning of her hate campaign that employs deceits, De los Reyes’ new untruthful claim has boomeranged not just to her candidacy but that of her congressional bet Aris Aumentado, son of the late Gov. Erico Aumentado. Official records instantly cleared Chatto and his incumbent administration of any culpability since the questionable multi-million equipment purchase was done at the time of the late governor in 2009. The father Aumentado died last December as the sitting congressman of the Second District, where the son now runs for the same post in the slate of Delos Reyes and Bag-ong Bol-anon. “Naunay si Aris kay ang anomaliya sa panahon man sa iyang amahan ug dili sa kang Chatto.

Also notorious for her arrogant ways and violent tendencies, Delos Reyes stood by her falsehood, prompting Provincial Administrator Alfonso Damalerio II to challenge her to pursue her graft threat against the incumbent administration over the equipment deal. In her rally speeches, Delos Reyes deceived the people in castigating the innocent Chatto for the “defective” P32,795,000 heavy equipment which were otherwise purchased and paid by the Aumentado administration. Chatto’s group of Liberal Party - Padayon Bol-anon said it is always not surprising to hear Delos Reyes, Dan Lim and their camp peddling lies because they have been used to it that they even tried to deceive no less than Pres. Benigno S. Aquino II.

The past capitol leadership bought four heavy equipment units---all articulated motor graders---worth P32.7 million from the Quezon City-based JVF Commercial & Project Development Support Services owned by a certain Cipriano Fruto, Jr. The late Gov. Aumentado himself signed the notice of award, dated March 26, 2009, of the equipment buy contract. In the name of the provincial government, Provincial Motor Pool head Engr. Abraham Clarin signed the equipment delivery receipt dated August 11, 2009. The COA later found out that the equipment units accepted by the province were different from those required in the purchase order. “The process of changing the units delivered from what were ordered violated Section 26 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act 9184, thus, the purpose of the public bidding was defeated,” COA stressed in its audit finding. Delos Reyes also published in her press release the questionable equipment transaction and senselessly named Chatto accountable to the people despite the fact that it was the Aumentado administration solely culpable for it.

Many, including his supporters, could not believe why the son Aumentado consented to Delos Reyes’ grave lie at the cost of the honor of his dead father and the reputation of the latter’s administration of the province. This “sick woman of Bohol politics” could lie and deceive the Boholanos just to get what she wants even at the expense of the dead governor and his son who is her fellow top candidate of Bag-ong Bol-anon, according to observers. But this is, again, not amazing since at the time she attacked Chatto by falsehood using the irregular equipment deal, Delos Reyes was also deceiving Pres. Aquino and the nation by covering her real identity. In their highly-pretentious open letter to the president which she signed together with Dan Lim and Aris Aumentado, Delos Reyes identified herself as candidate for Bohol governor “Conchita Toribio.”

At Comelec, she filed her candidacy as a Delos Reyes. She erased Delos Reyes and substituted it with Ordoñez when she acknowledged and signed a court commitment order after putting up bail for estafa/bouncing check crimes against her in Cavite last year. Ordoñez is the surname of her first, orginal husband while Toribio is her maiden name. Delos Reyes is the surname of the man she is presently living with. Until now, Delos Reyes has not explained to the Boholano voters why she has to use different identities under different circumstances. Long before she run for Carmen mayor, Delos Reyes was involved in large-scale swindling and that she was imprisoned here, according to informations gathered by the provincial administrator. Until now, she has neither responded to Chatto’s call for drug test at the state-run Gallares Hospital or PNP crime laboratory in the wake of a former personal aide’s expose that De los Reyes was engaged in illegal drugs.
